Michele A. Allen

With over 18 years of experience dealing with managed care issues and denied claims management, Michele is an expert at getting healthcare providers paid by managed care payors. As Senior Vice President of Provider Reimbursement for the firm’s Medical Claims Solutions Division, Michele’s areas of expertise include reimbursement issues and denied claims appeals.

Michele’s career in healthcare began in 1976 as a secretary in the nursing department of the Visiting Nurse Services in White Plains, NY where she was quickly promoted to the position of Assistant to the Executive Director. She continued her career in healthcare administration, gaining years of experience in claims processing, coding, contracts, reimbursement, and managed care while directing several medical facilities. Frustrated with insurance carriers, inadequate healthcare receivables and wanting to make a difference for providers, she pursued a law degree at St. Thomas in Miami where she graduated on the Dean’s List and received many awards.

Her years in healthcare administration combined with her law degree have afforded her tremendous success in drafting winning appeals and having otherwise denied claims overturned. Michele is a frequent presenter for a number of healthcare organizations and specializes in creating customized in-service presentations for healthcare businesses.
